Councilmember Krekorian joined Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian and Metro staff for a Valley transit summit to hear from community stakeholders and transit riders about the future of public transportation in the San Fernando Valley. Nearly 100 community members came out to discuss what works and what improvements to our transit network would make the Valley more connected for its nearly two million residents.
As a director on the Metro and Metrolink boards, Councilmember Krekorian has fervently championed greater transportation infrastructure projects to better connect the residents of the San Fernando Valley and believes LA residents have a golden opportunity to increase our transit network with a possible ballot measure in November.
Krekorian’s transit priorities include expanding the capacity of the Metro Orange Line, bringing a high-quality light rail system to the Van Nuys corridor, moving forward on connecting the Valley to the basin via the Sepulveda pass, keeping our neighborhood streets safe, and improving and expanding our active transportation programs for cyclists and pedestrians.
