At our October meeting we heard the following updates:
LAPD:
- Trunk or Treat – Thursday, October 24th, 5 PM to 7 PM
- Noted that additional radio calls help LAPD monitor hotspots.
Metro G Line Improvements:
- G Line (formerly the Orange Line) construction has begun; Van Nuys segment is now closed and work is progressing.
CD2:
- Streetlight repairs underway near LAVC.
- Coldwater & Victory construction contractors are seeking extended hours to complete a pedestrian crossing.
Supervisor Lindsey Horvath’s Office:
- Small business grants available to those affected by the ICE disruption.
- Introduced motion to create a Department of Emergency Management for coordinated disaster response.
- Board of Supervisors approved a motion by Supervisors Solis and Horvath to allocate $30 million to explore new eviction protections, particularly for wildfire survivors and immigrant families.
