I have lived in Valley Glen for over 10 years and love it here. But, every good thing has parts that can be improved. I’ve always enjoyed giving back to my community and would like to do so on the GVGC. This is not just my home. It is our home. I’d like to work for all of us.

I recently purchased my first home in July 2020 here in Valley Glen and I am a Southern California native. I joined the Greater Valley Glen Council ito be an active and positive member of community and find a way to volunteer my time and give back to the city. For work, I am the CEO | Team Leader at Keller Williams Encino-Sherman Oaks. I’d love the opportunity to continue to serve the residents of Valley Glen in this capacity.

I have volunteered and served on the GVGC for a year now. Not only have I enjoyed the work, but I’ve been proud of what we as a group have been able to accomplish. Jumping into the deep end had me quickly elected as Vice-President, and soon after as President, where it is my pleasure to currently serve. I have been a member on the Community Safety, Outreach, and Planning committees. Being President, though, has involved me in every facet of our Neighborhood Council. My goal is to maintain and support the entire community of Greater Valley Glen, welcome as many of its stakeholders as I can, and be a voice for the local in the sea of the whole.

The military brought me to California in 1993, and after several overseas deployments, I’m now proud to make my home in Valley Glen with my partner Lauralee. We love living in a peaceful neighborhood with kind and friendly neighbors. I’m a Marine Corps veteran, and I’m active in state leadership of The American Legion. I’ve spent more than a decade as an active member of multiple volunteer service organizations. After having spent so much of my life in the military and in service-oriented groups, putting the mission of the community over personal ambition is second nature to me. My goal on this council is to improve our community by addressing our local needs. I am a member of the ad hoc committee on homelessness, which I believe is perhaps the most important challenge facing Los Angeles. I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to the table to help create solutions for this and all challenges facing our community.

I am a student, employee and neighbor in the greater valley glen area. I really want to dedicate myself to helping and improving my community. I currently work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and enjoy helping people and would love to help my community in a different capacity. I was born and raised in the valley and I live with my parents and my dog. My parents immigrated to the US when they were just teenagers. I am the oldest of 2 sisters. I am a huge animal lover, avid reader, and lover of cinema! I have never done anything like this but I am not afraid to challenge myself and push myself to learn new things! I would love to see more diverse representation within our local government and hope to be a voice to ALL people that live within our diverse community. I would love the opportunity to be an advocate for my community and help improve our community. I hope to be given the privilege and opportunity to serve YOU!

I am a 3rd generation Angelino and am a father of 3. Born and raised in the valley, I care deeply about our community safety, education and over-developement. I have been a youth football coach for 20 years. I also coach the legally blind to use assistive technology. In my time on the board I have gotten perimeter lighting installed around Erwin Elem. School and had their parking lot fenced to improve neighborhood safety. I have also had stop signs installed at a dangerous T intersection at Erwin/Ventura Canyon. I currently serve as Vice President on the GVGNC and am on the Community Safety Committee. I adore Valley Glen and hope to have the opportunity to continue serve my community.

Rather than complaining, I joined the neighborhood council to help make a change during the pandemic. Since joining, my proudest moments while serving on committees has been obtaining funding and cleaning up our medians; organizing a city food/toy drive delivering 2 truckloads of food to our neighborhood food pantry and over 200 toys for tots; and building a streamlined process of communication with the city, community, and Hope of the Valley for the best possible outcome for the very controversial launch of the Tiny Homes Alexandria Park. My Latino husband and I have lived in Valley Glen with our 2 dogs for 9 years now. I am passionate about building a community that is safe, diverse, kind, and beautiful…one that will draw other incredible people to live and thrive here. However I can serve, I am here to serve with love, gratitude, tenacity, detail, and stick-to-itness. I do NOT stop until I have utilized every last drop of possibility to make it the best that it can be.

My wife and I purchased our home in Valley Glen in 2019. We have 3 cats (Jack, Harley, Tuna), 1 dog (Piper), and our son London. We love our neighborhood and feel so lucky to have met such wonderful neighbors over the past couple years. This is not just my home, it’s our home and I want to work to ensure our neighborhood is safe, diverse, and inclusive of all voices. I hope to have the privilege to serve this community.

Right now more than ever we need people with open minds and new ideas to become involved in our local government. I have a proven tract of making difficult things possible, correcting wrongs, pushing for what is right and redefining opinions when needed. Understanding what good projects are, the importance of effectively using resources and keeping in mind what is best for our community at large. I speak English, Spanish and a little French. My extensive experience in different professional fields allow me to understand issues from different angles. I have lived in Los Angeles since the year 2000 and had the fortune to buy our home in 2017 here in our community. Open Mind and Honesty is what I strive for the most. Thank you for your consideration.

Valley Glen has been my home from maidenhood to motherhood and in that transition I have realized many ways we can make our community safer and more enjoyable for all our neighbors. I want to advocate for pedestrian safety for our neighborhood streets, support small businesses that make us diverse and unique, and I want to provide resources to our unhoused neighbors so we can be a part of the solution for LA’s growing housing crisis. I promise to keep our community informed about our efforts, listen to the concerns of my constituents, and work with neighboring councils, so that together we can make not only Valley Glen a better place, but all of LA a better place.

In my first year on the Greater Valley Glen Neighborhood Council, I was a member of the Community Outreach Committee, where I created and organized our community’s first ever virtual Trivia Night. It has become a a place where our neighbors can come together, learn, and have fun in a safe and COVID-friendly setting. I am a business owner in the entertainment industry where I am committed to creating inclusive spaces where a wide range of voices can be seen and heard, and I love bringing the same energy to my community. As an east coast transplant I have lived in Greater Valley Glen with my husband and fellow council member for over a decade, and am invested making my home a safe and welcoming place. I would love to continue to work to make Greater Valley Glen a place where all of its stakeholders can thrive.

I want to represent the needs of our people in Greater Valley Glen. Too often I find that politicians at all levels are out of touch with the concerns of their constituents, and I feel compelled to change that. In my time in the neighborhood I have been so happy making a home here. You may see me walking my beautiful husky Luna around, so don’t be afraid to say hello! In my day to day life I split my time between acting, being a marketing manager for a tech company, and doing whatever I can to help the people of this city fight for their rights. I am also endorsed by Streets For All; an organization fighting for street safety as well as working to expand public transport. It’s important to me that our neighborhood council makes tangible decisions that benefit the people of our neighborhood. We should use our power advising City Council to speak to the needs of our neighbors on issues such as transportation, homelessness, covid relief, etc. I would be more than proud to represent you!

I have lived in Valley Glen for 46 years. I have served on the Greater Valley Glen Council for 3 years. I am the Outreach Committee Chair. I enjoy working with the rest of the members of the Council and would like to continue to serve my community. I am also a member of the Valley Glen Neighborhood Association, and deliver the Valley Glen Voice to my area. I have also been the Clean Team Leader for the Association for the last 3 years, although we have suspended operation during Covid 19. I will do my best to help make Greater Valley Glen a great place to live and work.

Daniel Lopez

Daniel Lopez

My name is Daniel Lopez and I am a long term resident and stakeholder in Valley Glen – I live right across the street from Burbank Blvd Elementary! We have so many issues facing our communities and regions – increased homelessness, public safety concerns, skyrocketing housing prices and a woeful transportation network for the Valley and our region. I hope to work on these issues and so many other issues with the NC Board. As a LA native and a renter in this increasingly unaffordable city, I hope to play a active role on making my community better instead sitting on the sidelines – I am looking forward to getting in the arena and getting my hands dirty. I hope to have your support!

I’ve been a Resident of Valley Glen for 10 years and am very, very grateful to be a part of this community. I’m very humbled to have made lifelong friends here. I proudly served on the GVGC board in 2017 and 2018 and rejoined in 2020. It is my greatest pleasure to continue to serve all Stakeholders here in Greater Valley Glen. Originally from Portland, Oregon, I relocated to Los Angeles over 30 years ago. I spent the 80s at Paramount Pictures , left to join a small team that launched “the fifth network” UPN, and later moved to Publicis’ media giant, Starcom serving clients that included GM, AirBnB, Beam Global, Darden Enterprise, Samsung and more. Now, as a successful Realtor with Keller Williams, I represent Buyers, Sellers and Investors throughout the Greater Los Angeles basin. I’m a very proud mom to a wonderful young man, two crazy cats and a future dog. In my spare time I read, (try to) garden, cook and bake. Currently I’m setting up my new studio space to start painting

I am a man who has great respect for the land that I have and I want to apply that same respect and dedication to the Greater Valley Glen Community. I believe that hard work and care is needed to create a clean and healthy neighborhood and I would like to represent you in this endeavor. I have 3 citrus trees and 2 gardens that require a nurturing and vigilant caretaker to ensure a fruitful harvest; one must get in the dirt, dig out the weeds from the root and carefully prune to keep a lush garden growing strong. I will care for the safety and well being of this community as I have with my garden while taking steps to preserve its natural beauty and make this neighborhood one we all can be proud to call home.

I have lived in Valley Glen since 2006. I am on the GVGC because I am interested in serving my community. I currently serve our community on the Van Nuys Community Police Advisory Board and sit on the Greater Valley Glen Neighborhood Council. I believe more than ever is the time our community needs more citizen involvement. I am looking forward to continuing to serve our Valley Glen community.

I have served on the Greater Valley Glen Council for two years. Currently I serve as Treasurer and chair of the Community Safety Committee as well as the Ad Hoc Committee re Tiny Homes Village Alexandria Park. My focus has been on traffic safety and we have strengthened our relationship with LAPD Valley Traffic Division during this period. In addition, we have focused on illegal fireworks and better coordination with surrounding NCs in the East Valley. Finally, the GVGC has increased outreach efforts with two community food drives and community grants to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry, and we hope to expand these programs in the future. My goal for this term will be to improve collaboration between state, city and local officeholders to better serve the needs of Greater Valley Glen.
