DESCRIPTION:Homelessness Resource Fair April 20: Learn How You Can Help Solve Homelessness in LA \nHomelessness in LA is a complex issue. So many people want to help solve homelessness in their communities\, and don’t know where to start. Our Homelessness Resource Fair is a starting point where Angelenos can learn how they can start making a difference right away. \nYou’ll be able to connect to other local advocates for the homeless and organizations that provide homeless services\, and learn how you can extend these services to homeless neighbors in your own community. At the Fair\, you’ll also hear from government agencies who will present an update on their projects and policies (including Measures H and HHH\, and A Bridge Home). \nThis event is organized by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment in partnership with the office of LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis and the office of Mayor Eric Garcetti. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, March 30th at Fire Station 89 in North Hollywood\, your Los Angeles firefighters and police officers will join brave souls from the public and shave their heads in solidarity in order to support children who have lost their hair as a consequence of cancer treatment. \nWorldwide over 160\,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year\, and sadly it takes the lives of more children in the United States than any other illness. By raising money for shaving their heads\, shavees assist the St. Baldrick’s Foundation with offering research grants for finding a cure. This is extremely important because behind the U.S. government the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest source of funding for childhood cancer research. \nPlease join us in the festivities which include:\n– Free Pancake and Sausage Breakfast by the Pancake Factory North Hollywood!\n– Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registration!\n– Refreshments by KENK USA\, Coffee Bean\, etc.!\n– Free Facepainting and Magic Castle Magician performances!\n– Fire and Police Apparatus displays and merchandise!\n– Much\, much more
