DESCRIPTION:The city is holding a public hearing on a plan to reshape zoning around three orange line stations. \nThe City of Los Angeles is proposing an update to the City’s land use plans to include new zoning\, and General Plan Land Uses\, which will shape development around three Metro Orange (G) Line stations in the eastern San Fernando Valley – Sepulveda\, Van Nuys\, and North Hollywood. This project\, known as the Orange (G) Line Transit Neighborhood Plan\, or OLTNP\, is a long-range planning effort that will introduce new zoning to portions of the North Hollywood-Valley Village and Van Nuys-North Sherman Oaks Community Plan areas. \nThe OLTNP aims to promote a variety of housing options for people of various income levels near transit\, create mixed-\nuse neighborhoods with community serving businesses and amenities\, connect people to a variety of mobility options\, and facilitate transit ridership. DESCRIPTION:EmpowerLA is excited to announce that registration for the 2026 EmpowerLA Youth Conference is now open! \nOn Saturday\, June 6\, 2026\, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.\, EmpowerLA will host 100 young people between the ages of 14 and 17 from across Los Angeles at Los Angeles City Hall to participate in a one-day event focused on civic engagement\, leadership development\, and local government. \nConference attendees will dive into the role the Neighborhood Council system plays in grassroots local democracy\, attend learning sessions on ways to be civically engaged in the community\, network with like-minded young leaders\, engage with City leaders\, and so much more! \nThis year’s conference attendees will be selected through a random lottery – registration does not guarantee admission. Registration closes on Friday\, April 24\, 2026.
