Solar Street Lights Approved by Mayor
The new initiative, an historic agreement between the LADWP and the Bureau of Street Lighting will identify and install up to 60,000 solar street lights across the city over the next two years. This Solar Street Lights Initiative will also address the more than 32,000 street light service requests by either modernizing these lights or repairing them.
Dog Park Planned for North Hollywood

Chandler Boulevard Cycletrack Gap Closure Coming Soon
At the January 5 Meeting of the LA Board of Public Works, a contract was approved for construction to close the gap on the Chandler Boulevard Cycletrack between Vineland Ave in North Hollywood and Leghorn Ave in Sherman Oaks. This will allow Valley Glen residents to take advantage of the full length of the bikeway, when it is completed.
GVGC Hears About Crime Solutions
At our January 5 Meeting we heard a crime update from LAPD. A stakeholder reported on how some residents were coordinating efforts in neighborhoods to install Flock cameras on private property for the purpose of increasing neighborhood security.

The Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District (GLACVCD) has confirmed the first mosquito sample to test positive for West Nile virus (WNV) in Valley Glen this year. This positive sample was detected in mosquito traps in your community on June 30th.
