Greater Valley Glen NC Mission

Neighborhood Councils are official bodies created under the City Charter of Los Angeles. The Greater Valley Glen Council consists of committed stakeholders who plan and implement community projects, and serves as a link between stakeholders and elected representatives and government agencies. The GVGC shall seek to enhance the economic vitality and quality of life of the community, and to preserve and enhance its character.

13610-13618 Sherman Way Hearing

There is a hearing scheduled for April 22, 11 am on Zoom regarding the construction of a proposed 5 story, 168 unit mixed use building at 13610 Sherman Way. Anyone can make comment on the Zoom hearing.  They are asking for a lot of variances including no side and rear setbacks plus tree and parking requirement reductions.

Melenthin Birdhouse on Track for Cultural Designation

Apartments at 5922-5930 Buffalo Avenue were slated for demolition, but due to community activism, have been identified as potential Historic-Cultural Landmarks due to their Mellenthin Birdhouse design. Their Historic-Cultural Landmark Status is going next to City Council to be voted upon.

Get Native Trees Planted for Free
