Carlos Ferreyra was one of the original neighborhood council founding members when it originated in 1998. He has served as President of both the Neighborhood Council and the Valley Glen Neighborhood Association. Service to the community includes work as community representative to the L.A.P.D. CPAB , PCR and Neighborhood Watch block captain as well as creating the original Community Anti-Graffiti team in Valley Glen. As the Chief Petitioner for Valley Cityhood, Carlos led the "secession" effort and remains active in Valley VOTE. In 2006, he was appointed by President George Bush as a Commissioner of the Armed Forces Selective Service System.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carlos arrived in the USA in 1963. Education includes degrees in Biology from UCLA and Business Management from Windsor University. As a homeowner in Valley Glen for over twenty-five years, he resides with his wife, Judy and a menagerie of pets. Two companies based in the San Fernando Valley are owned and run by Carlos, SCA Medical Inc., a neonatal intensive-care products distributor and Ferreyra & Associates, a much sought after medical products marketing consulting firm.
